Getting to Quepos from San Jose
There are two major domestic airline companies that provide
this service within the county - SANSA and NATURE AIR.
The SANSA terminal is located close to the San Jose
Airport. After you come out of the main terminal turn
left and it's 200 yeards on your left-hand side. You
may walk or take a taxi.
The Nature Air terminal is Tobias Bolanos airport, which
is a 10 minute taxi ride.
When you get to Quepos, it's about 5 miles to La Plantación.
There is a shuttle service provided by the airlines meeting
all arrivals. They charge $5 per person.
BY CAR
Most
of the car rental companies are operated out of San Jose. Some have offices near
the international airport. We recommend you rent a
four-wheel drive. From San Jose or the airport, the
drive can take about 2 hours into Quepos. Remember
to buckle up. It's the law in Costa Rica.
Driving from San Jose, you take the Pan-American Highway
west to Punteranas and Jaco, turn off and head south
on the Costanera, the coastal road through Jaco onto
Quepos. From Quepos drive through the town following
the sign to Manuel Antonio. It is about 3 miles to La
Plantación which is on the left. Enjoy your drive. The
scenery is breathtaking.
